Ethically hand-knotted in Nepal

Karen Sanders Design is a family business based out of Asheville, North Carolina. Originally started by Karen Sanders and now continued by her husband Richard and daughter Julia, we offer our professional background in Fine Arts as well as inspiration from nature, textiles, and architecture to create one of a kind custom rugs. Our custom rugs have been featured in magazines such as Veranda, Connecticut Cottage and Gardens, New York Cottage and Gardens, Park Place and Urban.

Each rug is made-to-order and can be produced in a wide selection of knot counts, fibers, pile heights, colors and sizes. This allows for a range of cost that will fit nearly all budgets, while still maintaining high quality product and durability. We understand each client is unique and can create stunning transitional, modern, or traditional designs. We work with you closely through every step of the design process to offer creative solutions and professional experience to ensure you are satisfied with the final product.

Our rugs are hand knotted in Nepal and made of the highest quality materials. We offer wool, silk, nettle, mohair hemp or tencel fiber rugs, and will work with you to discover what will best fit your design needs. All rugs are dyed and woven to the exact standards of the traditional rug-making techniques of the region. Karen Sanders Design works with weavers in Nepal that are members of the GoodWeave Association, a global, non-profit organization working to end child labor. Learn more at https://goodweave.org/

We looking forward to working with you on your next custom rug project!
